Hello, What access level should a user, who is trying to deploy a SSAS cube from his local box to the network server have? To elaborate, a user who has developed an cube, wants to deploy a cube, whose development has been done on a local machine. The user needs access to deploy the cube on to enterprise server. as a DBA what access should be granted to the user from the database side? Is there a procedure or a best practice to follow, Please advice! Thanks!

The user who is deploying should be member of SSAS server administrator role. By default, windows local administrators will be members of analysis services built-in administrator role, so if that user is a local admin on the box, (s)he will be implicitly granted admin rights for the entire SSAS server. Thank you for the information shahfaisal. Due to some reason. this is not possible the corporation policies. Is there a way that a backup of the cube is taken and restored on the server and then the user is given accesed to the cube. If i am on the right path, how is the cube backed up in order to restore? if the cube is saved in a .Cube file.. can that be of any use?
