Hi, I believe an email should be sent to the user, if he adds a comment to an answer/question, and gets a response. I think this is not the case at the moment. The only way the user can let know about the response is if he revisits the question. Please let me know if I am missing something OR it is not feasible to implement? Thanks.

I recall getting these previously but did notice they stopped. If you review your profile settings under "User Tools" "Email Notification Settings", you should see the options to enable this. If the convention @user_name is used, you are supposed to get notified of that as well. I found mine unchecked for comment notification, don't know if that occurred during an update that might have been applied? Update Thanks for the prompt response

If you click on your name and then select User Tools and then Email Notification Settings you can control when you get emails. Please confirm that this lets you configure notifications the way you want to or, come back and we will take more details and forward your suggestion to the site owners. This leads to... Am I automatically subscribed to a question when I add only a comment in a question? Is it different to adding a comment (only) to an answer given by any other user for that question?

To be honest, that is something that would need to be tried to be sure. I guess, if you have made changes to your settings, you will get an email from this comment being added but you also asked the question so we cant be certain. Let me know how it goes after you have commented on a question that you didnt ask and someone comments after you. I would expect, with your setting ticked, that you would automatically get the emails.

Thanks. But what exact settings then I have to ticked? At the moment, I have ticked all under "On my subscriptions, notify me when" :) But all these settings will only work If I do get subscribed to the question I commented upon. I will update whenever I get that sorted out.

I am afraid its not working. So what should be the next step? Thanks in advance.

@Fatherjack Sir, Just curious about the fact that this question is still marked as unanswered, so wanted to close it. But the problem is still there. So my suggestion would be to add another option something like "All questions on which I left a comment" under "Auto subscribe me to:" label. Or any other way which is more convenient. Thanks.

@Dzone, I'm experiencing the same thing - no emails for comments on questions that I am subscribed to. [have added this as an answer, as I don't think adding it as a comment on Usmans answer would notify you :)] @Kev Riley we think we see the issue and will get it fixed. Thanks!

Could have worked for you, but I did not receive any alerts for last 2 comments, despite the fact that I am the OP of this question :(

@Kev Riley This is to verify whether you recieved the last comment's alert?

@Kev Verifying... Does mentioning only the first name work? If it does, then what happens if there are more than one users with the same first name?

In my email-notification settings, I have checked/ticked all the options excluding "A new member joins" and "All new questions". But still I am not getting notifications of comments in my inbox. That is really disappointing :( So you get no notifications at all? We will take a look.

I kind of like the system used on stack overflow where a notice pops up when you visit the site itself, but it doesn't fill up my e-mail inbox, personally.
