applying service pack to cluster

How we can install service pack to two node cluster, where one node is Active and Other is Passive.

Please correct me if I am wrong,...first we will install service pack to passive node...restart it,then manual fail over...then install the service pack to another node and resratrt it...

You haven't stated which version, but here's the link for 2008 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958734, which is essentially the same as you have outlined.

If you are on 2005, then there is a different approach as discussed in this article : http://blogs.technet.com/b/mdegre/archive/2010/01/16/apply-a-sql-server-2008-service-pack-or-hotfix-to-a-failover-cluster-instance.aspx

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
