SSRS projects in Visual Studio 2010 Premium

Currently, SSRS projects are not recognised by Visual Studio 2010. Visual Studio 2008 (or Business Intelligence Developer Studio) must be used.

Does anyone know if Microsoft has a announced when SSRS projects will be supported by Visual Studio 2010? It would be useful to know if this is only months away, or if it might be years.

Thanks in advance.

1 answer: sort newest

I imagine that SSRS projects will be fully supported in VS2010 when the next version of SQL Server is released at the latest - as that is when the major drive towards VS2010 for BI/SQL Server devs will be made.

Keep checking for updates to VS2010, one day it will be included!

The VS2 2010 shell for BI aka BIDS should be introduced in some of the future releases of DENALI (some future CTP or Beta)

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
