Hi! I have tried retagging questions a couple of times, but get a 500 error message every time (without any details, it's a custom 500 handler page). I have tried with Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.6 with the same result. I have also tried from different locations. Is anyone else experiencing problems with retagging?

I can too - I think it has to do with how re-tag is implemented. I mentioned this a while back. You need 500 karma to retag, but 2000 karma to be able to edit questions. Retagging is basically a cut down version of edit. You are currently just under 2000 karma, so you have the ability to use the retag function, but don't have the karma to actually perform it! Wait for four more votes, then you will be able to retag too. It would be nice if it got fixed by OSQA though. Thanks WilliamD, that explains it all. I'll just have to come up with a couple of decent answers then :)

That's what I had. And I'm sure I logged a call with OSQA about it.

Interesting, and good catch! @Thomas, I just did a quick sweep of the OSQA JIRA & couldn't find anything, but if you happen to have the link, let me know so I can upvote it :) I've suggested that retagging and editing be properly decoupled, and if there's no short-term solution, I'll look at bringing the karma requirements in line with each other.

@Camassey The link you want is: http://jira.osqa.net/browse/OSQA-424 - created in July 2010!

Upvoted :) There has at least been some recent activity on that item (2 days ago), so fingers crossed!

apparently not - I just re-tagged this question. Using Chrome 8.0.552.215, Anyone else?
Strange. And I guess the process is as intuitive as it seems (click retag, change the tag(s) and hit save edit)?
right, I have reviewed some of your answers to questions where I havent voted before and you should not be troubled by the 500 Error Message any more... Thanks for working with us on this forum Magnus. :D
@Fatherjack: There are probably hundreds of answers where I should've given you +1, but I'm just not active enough on AskSSC. Thank you though for the three +1 you did give me, and thanks for doing it on posts where I did put some sort of effort into the answers. It wasn't just three random answers. Thank YOU for working with me, and everyone else on this forum. It wouldn't be the same without you!
