[Closed] Job failed to complete

Question

Hi all,

I created a job on my production server to rebuild indexes, Later when i examined the job history the job ran for 30 min and failed to complete, the message returned was

"NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM. Unspecified error occurred on SQL Server. Connection may have been terminated by the server. [SQLSTATE HY000] (Error 0). The step failed"

What might caused the job to failed?

Hi all!

I found the problem, actually there was a job that was scheduled to run every 30 min to kill all the session that are 30 min old, so my job become a victim for that.

@ThomasRuston it was funny!.

That dangerous job was created by an ex-developer, i am unaware about that. Actually i was appointed as a new DBA recently...

hi is this the erroe you get "Invalid buffer recieved from client"

"Error: 17805, Severity:20 State:3"
