[meta] Badges not behaving?

Badges now...

Bob Hovious has just been awarded a 'Guru' badge for having an answer voted up 40 times - can anybody find it?

It seemed to coincide with a [vote here][2]

Missed that one back in October but I had the chance to vote now. Bob's closesr to actually having 40 now.

5 answers: sort voted first

OK turns out that the vote count being checked for 'Guru' was wrong.

One of the OSQA devs has fixed the bug and will update the site at the end of the day.

Sorry Bob.

whatever niggles we are having with the new hosts, you can't fault their responsive and effective service.

@Fatherjack That's true. They sure do move quick. By & large, this seems to be mostly working well.
Jul 08, 2010 at 04:46 AM Grant Fritchey ♦♦
Yep - they are responsive for sure. Doesn't mean that everything's perfect (a la my 'beta.osql' comment) but when things are fixed so quickly you don't mind finding issues...

Actually, I think the inability to sort answers on the user pages is also a bit of an oversight...

Edit -> Maybe we should change the site name to beta.osqa.net? :)

Hmm sure I added that to Jira or OSQA, or someother 4-letter acronym
Jul 08, 2010 at 03:35 AM Kev Riley ♦♦
Yep, I'm pretty sure you did too...
Jul 08, 2010 at 03:36 AM Matt Whitfield ♦♦
Hmmm... that's different - it's 'see all questions answered by' - so you can then sort, but you're sorting based on the questions that contain the answer, rather than the answer itself. So, for example, I want to search for Bob's answers and sort them by votes, rather than search for questions he has answered, and sort those by the votes on the questions...

@Kev, where did you filled the issue? I'm trying to find it to close it, but I don't see it.

maybe I didn't - have now though http://jira.osqa.net/browse/OSQA-395

ahh no that is the most-voted questions, that Bob has answered, not the most-voted answers that Bob has given - took me a while to work that one out :(

OH :( . If only we had the data, we could find it 'simples'!
Jul 08, 2010 at 03:40 AM Fatherjack ♦♦
+1 for the simples

Sorry to re-awaken this, but badges are still misbehaving. As of 17:10 CET - Bob has two "Unknown" badges. What do I have to do to get one of those! :-)

Is there a job that re-calculates badges that is not doing it right?

Unknown badges are ones imported from the old site that OSQA doesn't understand...
Jul 27, 2010 at 08:18 AM Matt Whitfield ♦♦
Ahhh..... well no Unknowns for me then :(
Jul 27, 2010 at 11:56 AM WilliamD
if we knew what to do to get the unknown badges they wouldn't be unknown would they!?!?
Jul 28, 2010 at 01:00 AM Fatherjack ♦♦
I first thought it was some mystery badge that was awarded for "actions above and beyond the call of duty" or something like that...... Maybe they should get removed/reinstated?

Today, or possibly yesterday, I got an "Enlightened" badge. But I have only one answer with 10 upvotes, and that has not been accepted.

Can anyone enlighten me? (sorry for that, couldn't resist)

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
