Is there a difference between MySQL replication and SQL replication?

Or is it actually more like log shipping?

I'm not sure this is a real question?

My experience with MySQL Replication is rather limited, I have only had to set it up twice in the past. What I did set up, was Master-Slave MySQL Replication, which is very similar to how Transaction Replication works in SQL Server.

I'm not sure if MySQL has anything similar to SQL Server's SNAPSHOT or MERGE Replication.
