Torn_Page_Detection and Checksum

I have some databases with compatible level sql Server 2005 with Page Verify Torn_Page_Detection, can I change that to checksum? However if the database has compatible level 2000, can I keep the Page verify to Torn Page Detection?

It's a database setting, so the answer is -- yes, you can -- for both of your questions. In regards of CHECKSUM, please read A SQL Server DBA myth a day: (17/30) page checksums for some common misconceptions regarding the CHECKSUM setting.
