Sql server error 2 on Sql Server 2008

My laptop accidentally tripped on the stairs and this was out. When I turned on the laptop normally and wanted to connect to a database sql server 2008, the server can not lift both Microsoft Sql Server Managment Studio as the odbc. With Managment Studio get the following error:”A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while a connection to SQL Server is established. Server not found or was not accessible this. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)”.

It sounds like your SQL Server instance is offline. Go to the Configuration Manager to see if you can restart it from there. If not, go to the Windows error log to see why the startup is failing. You may also see errors in the SQL Server error log which you can access directly through the file system when SQL Server is offline.

New code box

There's a new way to format code on the site - the red speech bubble logo will automatically format T-SQL for you. The original code box is still there for XML, etc. More details here.
